[2026] Agricultural Contests at the Bloomsburg Fair.
00:00 - We're here in the, Aggie exhibit building at the Bloomsburg Fair.
00:04 - And we're the building that has all of the fresh fruits
00:08 - and vegetables, canned goods, bakery items.
00:12 - We've got some scarecrows this year.
00:14 - And the.
00:15 - The Grangers have some set ups here.
00:18 - We're also the home of the giant pumpkin.
00:22 - For the fair.
00:23 - But we're looking here now at some of the Grangers.
00:26 - And Grangers aren't something that's, you know, they've been dwindling down.
00:30 - Typically, they were the the place to go
00:34 - if you wanted to learn how to can and and raise a garden.
00:37 - You would join the Grange and and learn how to do that.
00:40 - So I think we've got seven
00:41 - exhibits of a Grange is really appreciate them coming out.
00:44 - And you can see the theme of America 250 is what they're going to.
00:48 - For this year.
00:50 - But they really do a good job.
00:54 - Looking at some fun
00:57 - as a.
01:00 - As as we continue here, you're going to start to run into some of the vegetables.
01:04 - And we really had over 3000 exhibits this year.
01:07 - Which is on a normal year.
01:10 - That's that's what we're getting. But,
01:13 - I think we really had a good growing season,
01:15 - although some places had some flooding and some droughts.
01:17 - But, you're, you're able to see here some pretty nice vegetables.
01:21 - We're soon going to approach the herbs
01:25 - and that's, that's an area there's
01:28 - a really good local flavor of, of folks that, that love their herbs.
01:32 - And you can see how many we have here, whether some are for medicinal purposes.
01:36 - And, you know, people love their herbs.
01:39 - And you can, you can see how many are here and how many different varieties
01:42 - we have here by, by looking at the number of, blue, blue and red
01:48 - ribbons, the apple harvest, the, the freeze this year.
01:52 - So you're going to notice we don't have as many apples.
01:54 - We we've got a bushel, bushel, apple.
01:57 - Category. And nobody brought those in.
02:00 - But that freeze early on really hurt the production of of apples.
02:04 - But you can see we still we still have some here for display.
02:10 - Here.
02:12 - But, you.
02:17 - So we just walked by the hay.
02:19 - So once again, really, farming and agriculture is what this building
02:22 - is all about.
02:23 - And in addition to the the canned goods in the bakery
02:26 - which we see on our over here on the, on the side, some really talented
02:32 - cakes, we try to encourage folks to, to do some of those entries.
02:36 - And now we're looking at some canned goods.
02:39 - Still a good amount of canned goods on the lots.
02:42 - That's getting to be, you know, a, a pastime that that people aren't
02:46 - doing that.
02:47 - But, we're always happy to see all the all the canned
02:50 - goods that.
02:53 - We we still have,
02:56 - some of the more farm like with animals.
03:00 - We've got some grains, we've got hay, we've got some different varieties of corn
03:04 - that you see here.
03:07 - Once again, people love to bring that.
03:09 - Bring in a life, bring in their goods.
03:11 - And, and then they, they love to come back and see how today,
03:14 - how did they, fare up against other competitors?
03:19 - Here's some some eggs.
03:21 - We've got some celery, which is, I would say it's not unusual,
03:24 - but folks do crazy celery, which is somewhat unusual
03:29 - for this area, but there's some varieties that that you can raise.
03:32 - And then we look in the back, we we kind of created a farmhouse,
03:36 - to show off some of the, the outstanding exhibits in here.
03:40 - So we've got different gift baskets, assortments of honey
03:46 - and some of the best of the shows here, which you can see some pretty,
03:50 - pretty neat stuff here.
03:53 - And, So
03:57 - we, we had a short walk all the way through everything here, and,
04:02 - really appreciate you sharing a little bit of what
04:05 - the agricultural building and, as is, like here in the Bloomsburg Fair.
