[2026] Livestock Banquet Hoedown at the Bloomsburg Fair.
00:00 - It's kind of like the blood of our body.
00:03 - You know, it takes them so we can have shows.
00:06 - And, you know, they have the animals.
00:08 - They take care of them all year round, you know.
00:11 - And then they bring them to our fair
00:13 - judge them, and they have to be here
00:15 - the whole week, a fair taking care of the animals.
00:17 - So it's nice
00:18 - that they have a meal and we're we have a good time tonight.
00:21 - You know, celebrating that.
00:35 - We're in the large arena here at the Bloomsburg Fair.
00:37 - And we're about to have our 40th annual hoedown.
00:42 - Hoedown is a celebration that we have every year
00:45 - for our exhibitors to come out and join a meal together,
00:49 - partake, and have friends and family to be able to talk.
00:53 - And we give a lot of scholarships out tonight
00:56 - and we celebrate our sponsors and agriculture.
01:00 - It used to be a pig roast before my day,
01:02 - and then they also started
01:04 - an organized meal where certain people
01:06 - could afford to go uptown, and they went to a restaurant
01:08 - and got together and had a good time.
01:10 - But my dad wanted to start something for everybody.
01:14 - The phones are fair.
01:15 - Gives out a $2,000 scholarship.
01:17 - We have a couple
01:18 - thousand dollars scholarships, a couple couple hundred dollars
01:22 - scholarships here with the Clemens Food Group,
01:25 - and you would know us best buy our brand, Hatfield Meats.
01:29 - So it's very important as a family business
01:33 - to involve time in the exhibitors.
01:36 - If we wouldn't have exhibitors that come up to the family,
01:38 - from family to family, we really wouldn't be in business.
01:41 - We count on young family farmers to learn from their older
01:44 - generations, to continue the traditions.
01:46 - What they're doing here
01:48 - at the hoedown, at the at the Bloomsburg Fair.
01:51 - They're really teaching and training up
01:53 - the next generation of agricultural leaders.
01:56 - This is my 25th year doing this, and just counted a privilege
02:00 - that Jeff invites us every year
02:01 - to be a part of this special gathering.
02:04 - I think we're serving 450 people tonight.
02:06 - So it's a it's a challenge, but we love a challenge.
02:10 - It's basically like a family reunion or a jam session.
02:14 - 21 years, 21 years.
02:15 - Here at Bloomsburg, we play some music.
02:18 - The kids have a good time. I got a scholarship
02:21 - from the Chris Morris Memorial Scholarship.
02:24 - I show dairy cows and dairy because I've been coming since I
02:28 - was six years old, but I've been showing since I was eight.
