4-H Market Goat Judging | Bloomsburg Fair at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds.
00:00 - Hi, I'm Madeleine Minning. This is my goat
00:03 - Hank and basically you go in, you show off your
00:07 - animal and they place you on higher animal like
00:10 - how it looks and everything. We weigh them at the
00:13 - beginning of the week and then you get them in
00:15 - classes separated from the weight and that's how
00:18 - they're judged off of, so yeah. This is my fifth
00:21 - year, this is my first year doing goats but this is my fifth year in 4-H in general.
00:26 - It's pretty competitive to some people but other people is not as
00:30 - competitive too, so yeah. I enjoy, I don't know,
00:33 - just how much fun they are, like there's cute
00:40 - animals and everything. Yeah, I'm Paul Gosey and
00:45 - this is my sister. I'm Rachel. I just won Grand
00:48 - Champion Market goat. I've been showing for five
00:52 - years, this is my third year. We competed against each
00:55 - other in the lightweight division. It's a lot of
00:58 - fun, it gets competitive because you want to beat
01:00 - your siblings at times but it was all fun.
01:03 - It's a lot of work, like you have to feed them every morning
01:07 - and every night and just make sure that they're in
01:10 - good shape because they rely on you. It is a lot of
01:14 - work but you get to meet a lot of really great
01:17 - people and have a lot of awesome opportunities
01:20 - and to make a bond with an animal and it's a really fun thing to do.
