00:14 - Clarke's tonight we're going to take a look at the

00:17 - sports topics of the day from either end of the state with a couple of journalists

00:22 - and then we'll have a profile of a couple of athletes from the Harrisburg area who

00:26 - are giving back to the youth in their community

00:29 - but joining us first to talk talk about the

00:31 - Pittsburgh side of things as Tim benz from trib live.

00:35 - Tim thanks for joining us

00:38 - going to be on again thanks for having me once more.

00:41 - We're in the middle of camp and

00:43 - and you wrote that

00:44 - for the steelers and you wrote that

00:46 - that most of the fans are going to be paying attention to offense because we're

00:49 - talking about Mike McCarthy coming in his first camp the first

00:53 - new coach in twenty years

00:55 - up there so

00:56 - he's reunited with his

00:58 - super bowl winning quarterback so can they

01:01 - recapture that magic.

01:03 - I don't think they'll recapture to the point that

01:05 - during the super bowl together in Pittsburgh I don't

01:07 - think they can go that far I think the bar is lower and has been lowered around here

01:11 - the great irony is of course that

01:13 - Mike tomlin's favorite catch phrase always was the standard is the standard while the

01:17 - standard was getting to super bowls and amc championships around here

01:21 - and then over the last nine years that sunk

01:23 - to can they win a playoff game and the answer

01:26 - has always been no

01:27 - I do think that after going ten and seven last year.

01:31 - Mike McCarthy has the capability to get more out

01:34 - of Aaron Rodgers with better offensive schemes

01:38 - some better wide receivers

01:40 - maybe more depth of talent at the tight end and running back positions

01:44 - and a more savvy inexperienced offensive line

01:46 - I think the potential for offensive output

01:49 - is greater even though Rodgers is a year older now

01:53 - the defense is just I think eight you're older and

01:56 - you know they're going to try some different things

01:59 - you might see a little bit more of the three outside the linebackers on the field at

02:03 - the same time with highsmith her big along with

02:05 - tj white you might see tj watt moving around

02:08 - a little bit more you're better

02:09 - because that defense got old stale and predictable last year

02:13 - and it's as much of a reason why they weren't able to win a playoff game

02:17 - as the offense was

02:19 - against the Houston texans

02:20 - at crusher stadium that was bat um both sides of the ball.

02:24 - Yeah you talked about moving and.

02:27 - What around is that something you've been seeing at camp.

02:31 - A little bit

02:32 - it's been more about her big being out there in different positions than it has been

02:36 - about what being in different spots there was one

02:39 - notable play early in a seven on seven drill

02:42 - where tj was on the right side dropped into coverage

02:44 - and picked off Rodgers that got a big crowd pop

02:47 - there's no tackling at steelers training camp this year that is new under my.

02:51 - McCarthy's so steelers fans are getting used to seeing much more mundane

02:55 - and team practices still

02:57 - plays by the defensive backs interceptions by the linebackers the dbs

03:01 - big plays down the field and the wide receivers

03:03 - that's all that gets crowd pops these days

03:05 - at Saint Vincent college but.

03:07 - I'm not seeing a ton of tj moving I am seeing here

03:11 - move in concert after the snap with her big

03:15 - a little bit more and

03:16 - we are seeing her big

03:18 - kind of play what was the Chad brown role when Chad brown

03:21 - was with the steelers back in the mid nineties where

03:25 - he's a great pass rusher but they've got two really

03:27 - good outside linebackers so they might blitz.

03:30 - Her big lick the

03:31 - dom capers

03:33 - dick lebeau bill coward defense blitz Chad brown from the inside spot quite a bit

03:37 - when he was lined up next to levon kirkland

03:40 - I think you're seeing

03:41 - some of that look

03:42 - from

03:43 - nikkor but you're also seeing a little for

03:44 - three they even sprinkled that in a straight

03:47 - old school typical for three

03:50 - look with three

03:52 - linebackers a traditional look

03:55 - alike used to see back in the day with Russell ham and

03:57 - lambert you know like we haven't seen it since about then

04:00 - you're in Pittsburgh has been the three four

04:02 - since then so like that kinda made everybody go wow are we really seeing this but

04:05 - that's the extent that they're going to get

04:07 - her begun the field I think it's the right move

04:10 - they're not paying them all that money yeah yet

04:12 - that's an extension that starts next year but

04:14 - he's on the books

04:16 - and you might as well get the impact from him while you can

04:19 - with highsmith and with what because I bet one of those two guys is gone next year

04:23 - when her big becomes a full time starter.

04:26 - And Patrick Graham running the defense where where did he come from talk about his

04:31 - philosophy.

04:33 - Well I mean he was

04:34 - a coordinator with the Vegas raiders

04:37 - he was a coordinator in.

04:39 - New York with the giants so

04:41 - he was with Washington too he also won a super bowl

04:44 - ring as a position coach linebacker packers coach

04:47 - with the new England patriots he's got a resume

04:50 - that there's been a lot of different places and

04:52 - has had success in the position level

04:55 - hasn't been with very good franchises at very good times in those franchises history

05:00 - I suppose is the best way to say it

05:02 - ought to do much in the playoffs didn't have great defensive

05:05 - talent to work with so a lot of p people are hoping

05:07 - that coalesces better here in Pittsburgh where he's got some Clay to mold

05:12 - or maybe he didn't when he had other stops as a coordinator but

05:15 - now one thing that might be overcooked here in Pittsburgh is the presumption.

05:19 - That the coaching staff after the head coach is going to be much better

05:23 - and I don't know that

05:25 - I don't I mean I know these guys guys

05:27 - are familiar with Mike McCarthy and I know he's brought back a lot of buddies like

05:30 - Tom and used to bring his buddies back around

05:32 - from other stops when he had an opening at Pittsburgh

05:35 - and he used to get crucified for that

05:37 - no one seems to mind because big Mike's from Pittsburgh anat.

05:41 - That's got a lot of cache and as carrying prefer

05:44 - so far but you know what he has lost a game yet

05:47 - his offense hasn't thrown interception yet

05:49 - they lose thirteen to ten against Atlanta in the opener at home

05:53 - and I bet

05:53 - no one cares what part of greenfield is from

05:56 - so.

05:57 - Well

05:57 - that that cache is as good as the first regular

05:59 - season loss and so is his coaching staff

06:02 - and then we'll start second guessing with Patrick Graham really knows and

06:06 - whether they're the the offensive coordinator

06:08 - Angelica is just like tit what Tara Lawson was

06:10 - to Mike tomlin on the other side of the ball so all that all that will have the good

06:14 - vibes last until they don't play well for a quarter against the falcons

06:18 - then it's open season.

06:20 - So now let's move on to baseball where

06:22 - we're fresh off the trade deadline and

06:25 - talk about what the pirates did it's another year

06:28 - here where they weren't sellers there were buyers and

06:31 - they went out and got pitching pitching and more pitcher.

06:34 - Specifically bullpen bullpen and more bullpen

06:38 - and

06:38 - they think they could have used the stock water because Mitch Keller got hurt so

06:43 - the long arm from the bullpen

06:44 - which is common login sky

06:46 - he's going to be in the starting rotation appears now

06:49 - and

06:50 - they don't have a long guy really I suppose they can reconfigure the bullpen so they do

06:56 - but they were getting thin the starting rotation anyone in the starting rotation has

06:59 - been the biggest disappoint ointment the

07:01 - offense is stalled out quite a bit since

07:04 - I said the last three weeks or so

07:06 - pretty much since the all star break it hasn't

07:08 - been what it was before the all star break

07:10 - but

07:11 - the starting pitching hasn't been what was supposed to

07:13 - be all year Keller wasn't any good before he got hurt

07:16 - schemes was great again until mid may he's been lousy since then

07:20 - which is the biggest development and biggest disappointment in Pittsburgh

07:24 - ashcraft did a real good start was a deserving all star and has only been so so since

07:28 - the all star game he gets a ton of run support

07:31 - or at least he did going into today's game not sure what time people be watching this

07:34 - after the game against the brewers today but

07:36 - this is a very important start for him because they just dropped three of four

07:39 - against the Cincinnati reds

07:41 - you don't want to do that two series in a row against division foes

07:44 - and right now they're closer to last place than they are the last wild card and that

07:48 - wasn't the case before the deadline

07:50 - when Ben sherrington was trade

07:51 - trying to make all these moves

07:53 - to tweak the bullpen which yes has been their biggest pothole

07:56 - but they have other issues afoot one of them like I said

07:59 - the starting rotation

08:00 - another being d defense they're not a very good defensive team

08:03 - and then lastly other really rotten

08:05 - against left handed starting pitching that

08:07 - needs to get better and and now there's really no

08:09 - way to fix it except internal guys getting better.

08:13 - So let's talk about the future of MLB from a Pittsburgh

08:16 - perspective a small market team like Pittsburgh

08:19 - probably has a different perspective on what

08:21 - could possibly be some labor issues coming up

08:24 - in the off season.

08:26 - Well much like anything else involving baseball thinks the

08:29 - pirates fans are dubious of how this is going to go

08:32 - you know people are skeptical when it comes to pirates in terms of on the field and

08:36 - they're very skeptical of ownership

08:38 - off of it and they're just as skeptical if not more so

08:41 - of baseball's economic structure and platform so

08:45 - the hope is they there'll be a salary cap and a floor.

08:49 - The further hope is that the floor is such that

08:51 - it's not so high that the pirates can still compete

08:54 - I don't think Pittsburgh fans are going to get those things I don't think they're

08:57 - going to get a cap and if there is a cap floor system

09:00 - in the cat the floor might be so high that Bob nutting

09:03 - might choose to look for

09:05 - another buyer or or at least more significant investment

09:09 - because

09:09 - we're talking about one hundred and seventy five

09:11 - million dollars for floor has been floated out there

09:14 - I don't think nothing's going to want to get there on

09:15 - his own even if there is significant revenue sharing

09:18 - of four TV dollars so

09:20 - a lot of people you're dubious about how this is going to go I think most folks in

09:24 - Pittsburgh myself included feel like there's gonna be a lot of row rancor.

09:27 - There's going to be a lot of saber rattling there's going to be a lot of back and

09:31 - forth and whenever baseball does reconvene

09:34 - after midst some missed games or an entire off season

09:37 - that the system that comes back in place will still be very much favoring

09:41 - the big market teams and especially the los Angeles Dodgers I just don't think

09:45 - there's a lot of optimism that we're going see

09:47 - a bunch of change by the time this thing is

09:49 - said and done

09:51 - a couple of months from now or a year plus from now.

09:55 - Or it's m our viewers

10:39 - Now let's shift our focus to the eastern part of the state and let's go to

10:44 - Martin frank who covers the eagles for Delaware online as well as

10:49 - all the other Philadelphia teams and Martin you've been at cap.

10:53 - Tell us some what

10:55 - what things have been looking like with the new look offense.

11:00 - Yeah it's still

11:01 - still a work in progress.

11:04 - You know

11:05 - to.

11:05 - Not only have a new offensive coordinator which the eagles have had.

11:09 - I think this is Jalen hurts is seventh in his seven

11:12 - NFL seasons

11:14 - but like his new Hopkins coordinator Sean mannion is pretty

11:17 - much changing everything around there blocking schemes

11:21 - and you know they're having Jalen hurts sign up under center more so not as novel

11:26 - as often in the shotgun

11:28 - which could curtail his running ability that something that remains to be seen but

11:33 - you know

11:34 - they're going more to the

11:35 - Sean mcvay Kyle shanahan

11:38 - type of offense with it just seemed to become all the rage in the NFL and

11:43 - mannion is a disciple of that so

11:46 - that's kind of what the eagles have been.

11:48 - Trying to do

11:49 - so far this off season and it's it's been a work in progress I mean the defense is

11:55 - pretty much dominated in like five of the six

11:57 - practices that have been open cinema media and

12:01 - you know there

12:02 - been many factors to that some of which being the injuries to

12:05 - Devonte Smith and mci lemon

12:08 - the two wide receivers.

12:11 - And

12:11 - also the defense being really good I mean this is a top five NFL defense so

12:17 - yeah they're way ahead of the offense right now and some of that is to be expected

12:21 - but I think Philly fans will probably sur panicking

12:23 - if it doesn't turn around in the next few weeks.

12:28 - Lemon the the first round draft pick

12:30 - wide receiver has he been out there at all

12:34 - what's the latest on his injury.

12:36 - So.

12:37 - Mci lemon miss

12:38 - the last two weeks of spring practice in June with a hamstring injury

12:44 - and that

12:45 - he was ready to start

12:46 - training camp and I think it was like the third or fourth day.

12:51 - He suffered another hamstring injury is not

12:54 - clear if he reinjured it or if it's the other leg but he has missed

12:59 - the last two and a half practices

13:02 - and

13:03 - before he got hurt he had really shown over a lot just yet he still kind of

13:08 - learning the offense haven't really been any splash plays with him so far

13:12 - so.

13:13 - The fact that he missed two weeks in June plus

13:16 - this latest injury I mean he's only had like maybe.

13:20 - Three practices since becoming an eagle

13:23 - and that's that's going to set them back I mean

13:25 - I I would be surprised if he's ready to start.

13:29 - The regular season at least in the number two wide receiver

13:32 - role at the was kind of hoping he would challenge for.

13:36 - That appears now to be don't tavia wicks who's actually played pretty well so far.

13:41 - So yeah lemon is kind of behind and

13:45 - we probably

13:46 - I would

13:47 - I would say it's a good

13:49 - guess to say that we probably won't see him at full effectiveness until

13:53 - you know maybe a few weeks into the season into the regular season.

13:59 - Well let's

14:00 - look at the defensive side of the ball you said

14:02 - it's hard to tell if the offense is not

14:04 - performing or if the defense is just that good but

14:07 - the first day of camp or maybe the

14:09 - day before camp they announced

14:11 - re upping

14:12 - Jalen Carter

14:14 - defensive tackle

14:15 - given him

14:16 - making him the highest paid defensive tackle

14:19 - and football basically and

14:21 - has he.

14:23 - Earned that or what do you think the prospects of

14:26 - him earning that

14:27 - that deal are.

14:29 - Well you gotta look at it two ways

14:32 - on the one hand

14:33 - this

14:34 - yes they give

14:35 - they give Jalen Carter a record contract but they

14:38 - also did it like as soon as he was eligible like

14:41 - if they had waited until he becomes a free agent after the twenty twenty seven season

14:46 - it probably would have caused him

14:47 - cost the eagles a lot more.

14:50 - In contract because you know he would have been a free agent.

14:54 - With Jalen hurts right.

14:56 - Yeah they do that with a lot of their guys they want to keep

14:59 - it.

15:00 - Took longer with Carter usually they do these guys like in march and April like they

15:04 - did that with Jordan Davis for example.

15:07 - But

15:08 - you know there was kind of spike collation

15:11 - about you know

15:12 - how corridor shoulders were I mean both of them were injured last year he wasn't

15:16 - nearly as effective as he was the year before

15:20 - but I think the eagles saw enough.

15:22 - In his off season workouts and rehab

15:25 - and from what we've seen so far in training camp I mean he's been tremendous.

15:30 - Easily been the best defensive lineman and you know

15:33 - he's in shape

15:34 - which.

15:35 - Yeah he wasn't necessarily in top shape last

15:38 - year in training camp and and that kind of

15:40 - carried over into the season but this year seems like a different story so far and

15:45 - the eagles are counting on him having a really

15:47 - big year and you know at some point soon

15:49 - he you will no longer be the highest paid defensive tackle but for now.

15:55 - He is and you know the eagles expect him to earn it based on his potential.

16:02 - How's the defense.

16:04 - Making up for some of the players that they lost in the off season.

16:08 - Yeah.

16:09 - The big loss was

16:11 - at edge rusher with

16:13 - Jalen Phillips go until the Carolina panthers

16:15 - but then they traded for Jonathan gurnard.

16:19 - From the vikings who has had to two twelve sack seasons.

16:23 - Bernard is currently on the pup list so he hasn't practiced yet.

16:27 - The summer but you know

16:29 - he's supposed to kind of like take the place of

16:33 - of jail and Phillips on the defensive line

16:35 - at a

16:36 - hairdresser they're expecting a big year from jail exxon

16:40 - who has their third round pick and twenty twenty four in

16:43 - incredibly.

16:44 - Hunt mow them with three interceptions last season as an edge rusher.

16:49 - The guy is just tremendously

16:51 - athletic and talented he can drop into coverage

16:54 - he can rush the passer he was.

16:57 - He led the team in sacks last year also at six and a half in and

17:00 - you know the sky's the limit for this guy he's going to be really good

17:03 - so him and gurnard are probably going to be there to top edge rushers

17:08 - they also have known Smith who will work in.

17:11 - He had a really strong playoffs not last year but

17:13 - the year before when they went to the super bowl

17:16 - he's kind of deal with a triceps injury last season but he seems healthy now

17:21 - and

17:21 - they also signed.

17:23 - Aj.

17:24 - Happen esa

17:25 - who used to be with the bills and

17:27 - and he's looked really good in camp and they have Arnold advocate a

17:30 - free agent that they saw from the falcon so

17:33 - there are actually deeper than they were at

17:35 - this point last year they got five pretty good

17:38 - edge rushers

17:39 - but cornered and and jokes on will be the two main ones in the other through

17:44 - rotate in

17:45 - but yeah they should it should be a good unit.

17:50 - Well let's shift our focus now to baseball you

17:53 - you wrote

17:54 - earlier before the trade deadline that.

17:57 - Bryce Harper brought an outfield glove

18:00 - with him and was out using it down and then that

18:03 - ended up being significant as they picked up

18:06 - Luis arise

18:08 - during the trade.

18:09 - Deadline

18:10 - and he shifted back to the outfield to talk about what the Phillies did at the

18:14 - the

18:15 - the trade deadline.

18:17 - Yeah so

18:18 - getting arise was

18:20 - the big move I mean everyone kind of

18:22 - the sooner they were looking for a right handed power hitting.

18:26 - Outfielder.

18:28 - Obviously that would keep

18:29 - Harper at first base but.

18:31 - You know those guys are like

18:33 - we're kind of at a premium and and the prices were

18:35 - really high to get those guys and and so they pivoted.

18:39 - A guy like arise is actually really good for the

18:41 - Phillies lineup because a he doesn't strike out.

18:45 - I think I saw something he struck out maybe twenty

18:47 - times all year and like nearly four hundred at bats

18:50 - so you know he's going to put the ban on the ball he's going to put the ball in play

18:54 - and he's leading the national league with an average of three twenty five so

18:58 - you know he's going to get on base I did find it kind

19:01 - of interesting that they've been backing him clean up.

19:04 - Since they acquired him and

19:06 - it's actually paying off so far his first game

19:08 - he has an r b I single in his first patent rb I do on

19:11 - the second bat and then last night he had one run so

19:15 - you know that's more home runs and

19:17 - Carson

19:18 - schwarber has in the past month.

19:20 - So you know he's he's been doing the job I mean you know you need a guy to kind of

19:25 - they have a lot of guys who are the same you know they pay.

19:29 - They can hit home runs

19:31 - but they also strike out a lot there on-base

19:33 - percentage was among the worst in baseball

19:35 - you know rise is going to get on base is going

19:37 - to hit the ball is not going to strike out so

19:40 - yeah no they need to have people on base for Harper schwarber

19:44 - you know how

19:45 - bomb those guys to kind of drive in runs and

19:47 - we're certain this we've been seeing that since they've gotten.

19:52 - Our app before we walk run out of time like we

19:54 - have to talk about probably the biggest story.

19:58 - This summer in Philadelphia and it's

20:00 - in the off season and talk about LeBron James and how he ended up

20:05 - signing with the seventy sixers.

20:08 - Yeah I think a lot of that was made possible a month earlier when when

20:13 - the sixers traded for Jaylen brown

20:15 - from the celtics which

20:17 - seemed to.

20:19 - This

20:20 - seemed unlikely I mean you make a big trade with your are tribal and the celtics a plus

20:25 - you know the sixers didn't really give up much they give up Paul George

20:28 - who

20:29 - was kind of a disappointment in his two seasons

20:32 - with the sixers

20:33 - he's also a guy

20:35 - who's

20:35 - thirty six years old so you know Jalen brown averaged twenty eight points last year

20:40 - and he's he's

20:42 - obviously an upgrade and then you put him with

20:44 - Joanna beard assuming that he's healthy which is a big assumption I understand

20:49 - and you got the two young guards and Tyrese maxey and and

20:53 - bj edge com be so

20:55 - you'll have LeBron to that mix

20:57 - LeBron is not LeBron and five ten years ago but he's

21:00 - still one of the top players in the n b a if you

21:04 - book classes in the early for guys

21:06 - who averaged twenty points

21:08 - seven rebounds and six assists a game and LeBron was one of those guys so

21:13 - you know even at age forty one he'll be forty two and

21:16 - in December

21:17 - I mean the guy can still play and

21:19 - you know he's won four championships

21:22 - he's got a wealth of knowledge he prepares the right way

21:26 - and I think some of that rub off especially on the young guys and Maxine edge com be

21:30 - and maybe even Joel embiid you know I mean he could use a little.

21:35 - Kicking the

21:36 - ball a little bit sometimes and it you know.

21:39 - The only thing is you gotta manage dwelling beat because of his knees and you're

21:43 - probably going to have to manage.

21:45 - LeBron a little bit because

21:47 - you know he doesn't play a full season I mean

21:50 - I don't think he's played more than seventy games any

21:52 - season since like twenty seventeen twenty eighteen so and

21:56 - you know

21:57 - you got to you got out of the deep bench but you know if you're

22:00 - if you're saving these guys for the playoffs

22:03 - and you have all five of them together I think the sixers are are definitely going to

22:07 - be one of the top teams in the n b a and

22:09 - get LeBron is huge people in Philly are going nuts about it.

22:13 - Haven't seen.

22:15 - You know

22:15 - the this kind of excitement about a player

22:17 - choosing Philly cause that doesn't often happen but

22:22 - yeah people are just.

22:24 - Beyond excited about

22:25 - about the sixers and LeBron and and the prospects for this year.

22:58 - are giving back to the youth of the community.

23:02 - He began playing football

23:04 - as a

23:05 - quarterback before you transition to defensive back.

23:08 - Can you talk about that the transition to

23:11 - quarterback the defensive back was definitely

23:13 - don't want to say difficult but it was definitely

23:15 - time consuming and

23:16 - it just took a lot of energy out of me being able to switch from office the defense

23:20 - but I also do feel like it was a good thing too playing

23:23 - a hardest role on a team I feel like at quarterback

23:25 - is being able to take that pressure and constant pressure down get at db so

23:29 - I feel like they go hand in hand and I feel like

23:30 - it was a great transition than a day saw bless.

23:34 - You stepped into one of the toughest conferences in college football.

23:37 - Immediately

23:38 - earning recognition as a freshman

23:40 - what do you think allowed you make that transition so Clinton.

23:43 - Something that helped me make that transition so quickly was really just

23:46 - my supporters in this to

23:48 - the grit that I got the mindset that I carry up there they just

23:51 - not let anybody outwork me knowing that anything I put my mind to it a little bit of

23:55 - faith is doable so really I'd say just working hard

23:58 - leaning on those that support me and just having faith.

24:02 - What's the biggest difference between high school football and college football

24:05 - that people may not realize

24:07 - the biggest difference gotta be to speed

24:09 - like when you get that college lab people don't realize all those guys are the best

24:12 - and where they came from so a lot of us do this fast

24:15 - a lotta guys are bigger than me so

24:16 - I got to have the biggest heart out there on the field that's definitely a big

24:19 - difference and everything's a lot faster whether that's play recognition please come

24:22 - until you're just people running a route so.

24:33 - adversity so just being able to call the article and

24:39 - being able to go through adversity on life and come out on top

24:45 - at I got tested at just being able to make an audible and readjust

24:49 - he didn't play in Pennsylvania your senior year.

24:55 - like diversity can you talk about that

24:59 - Not being able to play I had to go to school in new

25:01 - York I felt like it made me who I am today without that.

25:05 - I feel like god makes no mistakes that happened to me

25:07 - for a reason and I was able to bounce back and just

25:09 - step I had a step so been able to bounce back

25:11 - from that made me feel like I'm resilient

25:14 - I can shake back from anything that put me in position to be great

25:17 - and that's the reason why I am now so

25:19 - why is it important to give back

25:21 - while you're still playing instead of way waiting for your career is one

25:24 - not anything for me it's more for the kids so

25:27 - just bring in a community I'll give people a safe place to come and

25:30 - help each other support each other get around each other for like is a

25:33 - good thing to have especially with somebody active now

25:35 - is a good face to see when I'm younger I

25:37 - could connect to a lot of these kids though so

25:40 - and then your camp

25:43 - more than a camp a mindset yes

25:45 - can you explain upgrade

25:46 - or just being out here is more than a camp like

25:49 - like I said we've been having a football camp all day but right now a lot of the guys

25:51 - that just interact and chilling with each other

25:54 - being able to just connect and bond with a lot of great role models and leaders

25:57 - throughout our community old teammates so

25:59 - not just a camera mice and it'd be an able to

26:01 - adjust and overcome adversity in all aspects.

26:05 - Accomplishments mean the most of you

26:07 - I know you earned ac c freshman honors

26:10 - an all American recognition.

26:12 - I'll say really just inside the facility more than

26:15 - all hcc and all that has been a leader on my team

26:18 - I feel like that's the biggest thing for me when you step in on purpose

26:21 - the guys behind you go a step which is so that's the biggest thing for me has been a

26:25 - lead for the younger guys in a room gone into my second year

26:28 - and like you said just

26:29 - the recognition I was the highest graded freshman quarterback in college

26:32 - means a lot to me I'm blessed coming from where

26:34 - I come from to have that accomplishment show

26:36 - just keep on working and keep doing what I gotta do.

27:05 - man honestly I'd be proud of myself.

27:14 - I just relied on football so much.

27:17 - Whereas football had to work for me

27:22 - while I'm at where I'm at right now.

27:25 - Harrisburg has produced a lot of talented athletes

27:28 - what is it about this city that prepares

27:29 - them to compete at the next level or the grit

27:32 - we got that great

27:33 - we've got that mentality.

27:35 - We come from nothing for when we don't have no no professional team to look up to

27:41 - this is what we got to high school team

27:45 - We just take we

27:45 - we take pride in that we take pride in where we from

27:48 - a lot of young athletes dream about making it to where you made it

27:51 - with something that they don't see behind the scene

27:53 - auto hard work

27:55 - when nobody's watching.

27:59 - Putting in that work the discipline
