[2026] Austin Davis and Josh Shapiro primary election night speech.
00:00 - Please welcome to the stage Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania,
00:04 - Austin Davis.
00:07 - Bring me a fire.
00:11 - Bring your hand up.
00:15 - Oh, bring me up on the night.
00:20 - Yes. That's love.
00:22 - Thank you. Guys.
00:25 - Thank you.
00:25 - Pennsylvania Democrats.
00:30 - Thank you for your faith, for your energy,
00:33 - and for your belief in the future of this Commonwealth.
00:38 - I have to take a moment
00:40 - to thank my best friend and the love of my life, Blaire Holmes.
00:44 - Davis.
00:48 - Somehow
00:49 - you managed to raise our daughter, support our family,
00:52 - and show up every day as Pennsylvania's second lady.
00:56 - I couldn't do any of this without your love and support.
01:00 - Thank you babe.
01:05 - These last three years serving
01:07 - as your lieutenant governor have been one of the highest honors of my life.
01:12 - Every single day I've been laser focused on what really matters our families,
01:17 - our communities, and the responsibility that we have to one another.
01:22 - And tonight, I'm deeply humbled and proud to accept
01:26 - the Democratic nomination for reelection as your attorney, governor.
01:36 - But while I
01:36 - stand here tonight filled with gratitude, I'm also clear
01:41 - eyed about the moment we're in because this isn't just a celebration.
01:46 - It's a call to action.
01:48 - I didn't get into public service for a title or a spotlight.
01:52 - I got involved because of what I saw growing up in McKeesport, Pennsylvania.
01:57 - When I was 16 years old.
01:59 - A man was shot on my block.
02:01 - I remember standing there feeling helpless.
02:04 - I remember my sense of safety and security being shattered.
02:08 - And I remember thinking that nobody should have to live in a community
02:12 - where they don't have the opportunity to be safe and feel safe, that no parent
02:17 - should have to wonder whether their child is going to make it home.
02:21 - And no family should do everything right.
02:24 - Work hard. Show up.
02:26 - Play by the rules and still live with that fear hanging over them.
02:30 - That moment has never left me.
02:33 - It taught me something I carry with me every day.
02:36 - That the people closest to the pain should be closest to the power.
02:44 - That very
02:45 - belief led me to my first city Council meeting.
02:48 - It led me to run for office, and it's still what drives me today.
02:53 - Well, I didn't know where this work would lead me.
02:55 - I've always known why I was doing it.
02:58 - I wanted to address the gun violence plaguing my community so that my neighbors
03:03 - would be able to feel safe and be safe in our community.
03:07 - I've carried this mission from a teenager to your lieutenant governor.
03:12 - I know my younger self would be proud to see all the work we've accomplished
03:16 - so far from reestablishing the Office of Gun Violence Prevention
03:20 - and launching the Commonwealth's first ever after school program
03:24 - to investing millions of dollars in community based organizations
03:28 - and law enforcement, doing the work to keep our community safe.
03:32 - All of this progress started for me as a young person
03:36 - wanting to see change happen.
03:39 - I take pride in having grown up in a working class family, in a working
03:43 - class community where I learned what community really means.
03:48 - It means looking out for one another.
03:50 - It means understanding that dignity isn't something you earn.
03:54 - It's something that everyone deserves.
04:02 - And it means
04:03 - knowing that your zip code should never determine your destiny.
04:07 - That's why I stepped forward.
04:11 - And that's why I stayed in this fight.
04:15 - But over these last few years,
04:16 - this work has become even more personal for me
04:20 - because I don't just have the honor of serving you.
04:23 - I'm also a dad now.
04:28 - My daughter, Harper,
04:30 - is the most beautiful little girl in the world.
04:33 - Harper, you are my greatest joy and my greatest motivation.
04:37 - Everything I do is about building a Pennsylvania that's worthy of your future.
04:42 - A Pennsylvania that is safer, fairer
04:45 - and more hopeful than the one that I inherited.
04:48 - And that's not just my promise to my daughter,
04:51 - but it's my promise to every child in this commonwealth.
05:00 - I've had the privilege to travel all across Pennsylvania.
05:03 - Whether it's hearing the concerns of students and Pittsburgh
05:07 - workers in Erie, seniors in Scranton,
05:10 - small business owners in Redding, or community leaders in Gettysburg.
05:15 - And I can tell you this,
05:16 - the things that unite us are so much greater than the things that divide us.
05:24 - Pennsylvanians, no matter
05:25 - their background or community, want the same things.
05:29 - They want an economy that works for them,
05:31 - that allows them and their children to live the American Dream.
05:35 - They want to be safe and feel safe in their community.
05:38 - They want their children to get a quality education regardless of their zip code.
05:43 - And they want real freedom and.
05:50 - That let's be honest tonight about what families are facing.
05:54 - Because too many Pennsylvanians are being squeezed from every direction.
05:59 - Gas prices are spiking.
06:00 - Utility bills are climbing.
06:03 - Grocery costs are stretching family budgets to the breaking point.
06:07 - I've heard it from parents working two jobs, from seniors
06:11 - on fixed incomes, from young families trying to get started.
06:15 - People are doing everything right and still struggling to get ahead.
06:20 - Let me be clear.
06:21 - We can't and won't sit idly by.
06:23 - Pennsylvanians deserve leaders who show up, who listen,
06:27 - and who get stuff done.
06:34 - That's why Josh and I are working hard
06:36 - to bring down costs for Pennsylvanians by cutting taxes.
06:40 - Not once, not twice, but seven times since taking office
06:44 - to put more money back in your pockets.
06:49 - We tripled the child care tax credit
06:51 - while securing millions for a new child care recruitment and retention program.
06:56 - So not only can the workers caring for our most precious resource be supported,
07:01 - but so families can more easily find affordable, high quality
07:05 - child care.
07:10 - We're
07:10 - creating ladders of opportunity for the next generation
07:13 - to not just survive, but to thrive right here in Pennsylvania.
07:18 - By driving historic investments
07:20 - to our public schools and creating new pathways to succeed.
07:24 - From expanding apprenticeship and career pathways programs
07:28 - to supporting entrepreneurship.
07:30 - My friends, Pennsylvania is on the rise.
07:38 - We've got a lot of
07:39 - stuff done, but there's still so much more we have to accomplish.
07:42 - We can build off the progress we've already started
07:46 - by sending more allies to Harrisburg and securing
07:49 - a governing trifecta.
07:56 - By retaining the state House
07:58 - and for the first time in a generation, flipping the state Senate.
08:02 - We have the opportunity to finally raise the minimum wage here
08:06 - in Pennsylvania.
08:10 - To make the dream of owning a home more attainable.
08:14 - To enshrine protections for our LGBTQ neighbors
08:18 - and so much more.
08:23 - We have the power
08:25 - with your voices and your votes to make that our reality.
08:29 - Pennsylvania should be a place where every person
08:32 - has the ability to live the American Dream.
08:35 - You should be able to provide for those you love and live with dignity,
08:39 - and you should be able to get ahead, not just get by.
08:44 - And while families are fighting day to day to make ends meet,
08:47 - we're seeing something else unfold in our country
08:50 - that should concern every single one of us.
08:53 - We're watching our fundamental rights and freedoms come under
08:56 - even greater attack from a woman's right to choose, to the right to vote.
09:02 - Those on the other side have spent years chipping away at the Voting Rights Act,
09:07 - a law that generations fought, bled
09:09 - and died to secure.
09:15 - A law that made our democracy stronger, fairer
09:19 - and more inclusive for all Americans.
09:23 - And now, piece by piece,
09:24 - that protection has been weakened and a calculated effort to diminish black
09:29 - and brown voices and access to fair representation.
09:34 - Let me be clear.
09:36 - In America, the right to vote is sacred.
09:41 - It's the foundation of our democracy.
09:44 - A democracy born right here in this can and well.
09:50 - And in Pennsylvania, Josh Shapiro
09:52 - and I will always protect your right to a free
09:56 - and fair election.
10:00 - We will always stand up for the voice of the people.
10:03 - Whether you agree with us or not.
10:05 - And we will move Pennsylvania forward,
10:08 - not backward.
10:12 - That is the contrast in this moment.
10:15 - Division versus unity.
10:17 - Fear versus hope.
10:19 - Going backward versus moving forward together.
10:23 - And here in Pennsylvania, we're making the right decisions.
10:26 - We've chosen progress over partizanship.
10:29 - Compassion over chaos.
10:32 - And leadership that meets this moment for all Pennsylvanians.
10:37 - I often think about the people who made this moment possible.
10:41 - I stand on the shoulders of giants.
10:44 - People like Speaker Kay Leroy Jarvis, Chief Justice
10:47 - Robert Nix and countless others activists, organizers
10:52 - and everyday Americans whose names may never show up in history books,
10:56 - but whose sacrifice has paved the way for leaders like me to stand here today.
11:01 - I carry their legacy with me, and I carry
11:05 - the responsibility to keep progress alive.
11:13 - I saw that responsibility come to life
11:15 - not long ago in a small town in northwestern Pennsylvania.
11:19 - I met a group of children on a visit to their school.
11:22 - At the end of the program, one of those children pulled me
11:25 - by my jacket and said, you look like me.
11:29 - That moment has never left me.
11:31 - Because representation matters.
11:37 - It tells our young people what's possible when they are willing to work hard.
11:41 - It reminds them that no dream is too big and the challenge is that all of us
11:46 - to build a future where every child can see
11:49 - themselves in positions of leadership and service.
11:53 - That's what this campaign is about.
11:55 - It's about people.
11:57 - Not politics, not red jerseys or blue jerseys.
12:01 - It's about putting on the Pennsylvania jersey.
12:08 - Because at
12:08 - the end of the day, we're all on the same team.
12:11 - And I'm proud to be on that team with our governor,
12:14 - Josh Shapiro.
12:19 - A leader
12:20 - who shows up, a leader who stands up,
12:23 - and a leader who has never back down from doing what's right for Pennsylvania.
12:27 - I'm proud to call him my partner in governing,
12:30 - but I'm even prouder to call him my friend.
12:33 - Pennsylvania.
12:34 - The stakes are high, but I believe in us.
12:38 - I believe in our people, and I believe in our future.
12:43 - And together, with your help,
12:45 - Josh and I are going to keep moving this Commonwealth
12:48 - forward.
12:55 - So, ladies and gentlemen,
12:56 - it's my pleasure to introduce to you the 48th governor
13:00 - of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, my friend Josh Shapiro. He
13:05 - he. Now we need to use myself.
13:07 - My name is 008203.
13:10 - I used to make snowflakes by the, I guess even back then,
13:14 - you can call me c o o r o c o.
13:18 - Fresh out pie.
13:21 - What's up?
13:21 - Bucks County?
13:25 - Y'all look good tonight.
13:27 - Let me begin by saying a special thank you
13:31 - to Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis.
13:34 - I will tell you, the best decision I made
13:37 - four years ago was choosing you to be my running mate.
13:41 - You've been an outstanding and impactful
13:44 - lieutenant governor and a trusted voice in my ear.
13:48 - And tonight, my fellow Democrats once again showed great wisdom
13:53 - in elevating the son of a hairdresser and a union bus driver
13:58 - from western Pennsylvania to the second most powerful job in our state.
14:03 - And I could not be more excited to wage this reelection campaign together.
14:08 - Thank you, Austin Davis. Thank you.
14:13 - You know, I am called to serve by my faith,
14:17 - and I've been guided on this journey of service by my family,
14:22 - the way my parents raised me to care about people around me,
14:26 - the way a girl in the ninth grade
14:28 - took a chance on me by granting me a first date
14:33 - at Goodnow Farms in Newtown, right here
14:37 - in Bucks County.
14:40 - That date
14:41 - led to 29 years of a happy marriage,
14:44 - the blessing of four children,
14:47 - and a life dedicated to doing our part to repair the world.
14:52 - And sort of Pennsylvania's first lady.
14:54 - That girl.
14:55 - I shared an ice cream and some cheese fries with backing.
14:59 - You ready for this?
15:00 - 1987 I love you.
15:06 - Tonight, Lord,
15:07 - I take another step on our journey of service.
15:11 - This work I do.
15:12 - You know it comes with a responsibility to honor those who came before me
15:18 - and carry forward the baton of freedom and progress and democracy.
15:23 - Our first executive arrived on the banks of the Delaware.
15:27 - River on a ship named welcome in 1682.
15:32 - His name was William Penn, and he set out
15:35 - to build a place that would be welcoming for all.
15:38 - An example to the nations.
15:40 - He said he was guided in this work
15:43 - by these core principles the freedom to worship as you please,
15:49 - a government that was fair to its citizens,
15:53 - and free elections where people
15:55 - would choose their representatives.
15:58 - Now, three and a half centuries later, we are gathered here tonight
16:03 - with a duty to protect those principles,
16:06 - to ensure that we do our part right now,
16:10 - to pass them down to the next generation of Pennsylvanians.
16:15 - We have a responsibility to show that we will be
16:19 - the model to others who are watching us for our lead.
16:23 - I know that all feels at risk right now.
16:27 - I know we're worried and we're fearful
16:31 - or angry that this country that we love so much
16:35 - feels like it's slipping away,
16:37 - that the values that we hold dear
16:40 - are being squandered by a president and his band of enablers
16:44 - hell bent on injecting chaos and cruelty
16:49 - and corruption into our lives every day.
16:52 - But we are here tonight.
16:54 - All of us are here because we choose not to be captive to the chaos.
17:00 - We choose not to be part of the cruelty.
17:04 - We choose not to turn a blind eye to the corruption.
17:08 - We are here tonight to push back, to say enough
17:12 - is enough to reclaim our power and to stand together in common purpose.
17:19 - The Pennsylvania Way.
17:24 - You know,
17:26 - my faith teaches me that no one is required
17:30 - to complete the task, but neither are we free to refrain from it.
17:35 - And so, with a firm commitment
17:38 - to staying in the game and doing my part,
17:41 - I stand before you tonight to again
17:44 - accept the Democratic nomination
17:47 - for governor of the great Commonwealth
17:50 - of Pennsylvania.
17:58 - You know, in
17:58 - in these divisive times and with a politically divided
18:03 - legislature, we have shown that we can be the example that Penn spoke up here.
18:08 - We've shown that we can get stuff done and do it in a way that respects
18:13 - all Pennsylvanians, no matter what you look like or where you come from,
18:18 - who you love, or who you pray to or choose not to pray to.
18:23 - Together we've increased investment in public education by 30%
18:28 - and drove those dollars out to the schools that need the most help.
18:33 - We've increased the number of teachers.
18:36 - After years of decline and expanded mental health services
18:40 - in nearly 800 schools across our state, and now
18:46 - and now,
18:47 - free breakfast for all students is the law
18:50 - in Pennsylvania.
18:57 - I've taken on the utility companies and told them to their face
19:02 - that the rate hikes they were seeking were pure greed.
19:06 - We won, and we saved the people of Pennsylvania, hundreds
19:10 - of millions of dollars on their energy bills.
19:15 - Pennsylvania Pennsylvania has the only growing economy
19:18 - in the northeast, creating nearly 23,000 new jobs.
19:23 - During my time as your governor, more than all but two states in the entire nation.
19:28 - And get this, we've done more economic development during my time
19:32 - as governor than the previous 15 years combined.
19:37 - At the same time,
19:39 - we are preparing our workforce for tomorrow,
19:42 - doubling our investment in vo tech apprenticeships
19:46 - and ending the college degree requirement to work in state government.
19:51 - Treating all Pennsylvanians with respect.
19:55 - As of today, we've enrolled over
19:57 - 42,000 apprentices to open up new pathways to opportunity.
20:02 - We brought down crime to record lows while
20:04 - passing sweeping criminal justice reforms.
20:08 - Because we believe in second chances here in Pennsylvania,
20:12 - we have shown that we can respect our cops
20:16 - and we can respect our communities.
20:19 - Every Pennsylvanian, as the LG said,
20:21 - deserves to be safe and feel safe.
20:24 - We put money back in people's pockets, cut taxes
20:27 - for small businesses and families trying to afford child care.
20:31 - We passed the largest targeted tax cut
20:34 - for seniors in nearly two decades,
20:37 - and we brought Democrats and Republicans together
20:41 - to pass the most progressive tax reform in years by giving 940,000.
20:47 - Pennsylvanians up to 800 bucks back this year, working Pennsylvanians
20:52 - when insurance companies tried to jack up the cost of your health care,
20:56 - I stepped in and saved Pennsylvanians millions of dollars on insurance premiums,
21:01 - and we even got them to finally cover mental health care in Pennsylvania.
21:08 - And when the eyes of the
21:11 - nation were on us after I-95 collapsed
21:15 - and the experts said it would take months to rebuild, we showed the tenacity
21:20 - and the technical know how to get traffic moving again on 995,
21:25 - in just 12 days, thanks to the amazing skill
21:29 - at our Pennsylvania Building trades.
21:35 - So much of this work has been possible because of the outstanding
21:39 - work of Speaker Joanna McClinton and Majority Leader Matt Bradford.
21:45 - They join us here tonight,
21:48 - and I want you all to hear me on this.
21:50 - Their strength as leaders is unmatched, and them and their colleagues should be
21:55 - proud of all we've accomplished together while we've made real progress.
22:01 - Understand I am hungry for more.
22:03 - I know people are hurting right now because of Trump's policies
22:07 - in DC and Republican intransigence in Harrisburg.
22:12 - We have more work to do.
22:13 - That's why these races up and down the ballot matters so much.
22:17 - We need to reelect Brian Monroe so we can keep
22:21 - speaker McClinton in charge of the state House.
22:24 - Are you with me?
22:28 - And we also need to play offense.
22:30 - Bucks County will be the epicenter of the fight
22:33 - to win a Democratic majority in the state Senate.
22:37 - Send Eileen Albee yard to the state Senate to work with Steve Santa,
22:42 - Sarah and Vince Hughes and she will support my work
22:46 - to finally raise the minimum wage to $15
22:49 - an hour.
22:52 - Give me a Democratic majority in the Senate
22:55 - and we will fully fund mass transit.
22:57 - We will build more housing, and we will kind of fi
23:01 - abortion rights in the state law here
23:05 - in Pennsylvania.
23:09 - I'm hungry, Bucks County.
23:10 - I'm hungry to do more.
23:12 - And you can help me deliver.
23:15 - But for all that we've gotten done, for all the progress we've made
23:19 - and the lives we've improved, the plans we have
23:23 - for an even brighter tomorrow, we can't ignore that.
23:26 - We are facing very real challenges because of the chaos
23:30 - and the cruelty and the corruption coming out of Washington.
23:35 - Think about the chaos this president
23:37 - and his administration have caused with the war in Iran,
23:42 - a war Donald Trump was wrong to get into,
23:45 - and it has no idea how to get out of.
23:48 - He has.
23:50 - He has spent $30 billion on this war
23:54 - so far, depleting America's resources, straining our alliances,
23:59 - undermining our national security, and failing to achieve
24:04 - the constantly shifting goals that he lays out.
24:07 - And while his failed leadership has made us less safe
24:10 - and more isolated abroad, here at home, it's made us worse off.
24:15 - This war has caused gas prices to soar
24:18 - to more than $4.60 a gallon across Pennsylvania.
24:22 - That's on top of his tariffs, which have made everything cost
24:26 - more from the fertilizers our farmers rely on to the aluminum
24:31 - used by our craft brewers, to the prices we all pay at the grocery store.
24:35 - Instead of bringing down costs, as he promised,
24:38 - Trump and his enablers are pinching the middle class
24:41 - and then saying he doesn't care even a little bit.
24:46 - That's what he said.
24:49 - That's cruel.
24:51 - And we
24:51 - experience his cruelty every day in Pennsylvania.
24:55 - Think about the working mom I know who works as a home health aide,
25:00 - making 25 grand a year while supporting two kids at home.
25:04 - Even though she's got a stable job, it doesn't pay enough,
25:07 - especially right now when costs are going up.
25:10 - She relies on Medicaid for her health care coverage.
25:13 - She is doing everything right, working hard,
25:16 - caring for others, trying to give her kids a good start.
25:21 - But last year, Donald Trump got his allies in Congress
25:24 - and people like my opponent in this race to back his top priority,
25:29 - cutting Medicaid for people like that working mom
25:33 - across Pennsylvania, a half a million are going to lose health care,
25:36 - including 310,000 of our neighbors on Medicaid.
25:41 - Imagine what will happen when she loses her health care.
25:45 - Where would she go when she gets sick?
25:48 - What happens if she hurts her back after a long week at work?
25:51 - How will she take care of her kids?
25:53 - Donald Trump and his enablers would have her suffer in pain
25:59 - just to give a massive tax cut for those
26:01 - at the very top who don't need it.
26:04 - That's cruelty.
26:06 - And now think about the unmatched corruption
26:11 - of this president and his administration.
26:14 - They have built a government
26:16 - whose entire goal seems to be to help enrich
26:20 - his friends, his donors, and his own family
26:24 - and then shield them all from paying the price for their illegal conduct.
26:30 - It started on day one.
26:31 - You remember when he pardoned those who broke the law
26:35 - and assaulted cops in the Capitol on January 6th?
26:39 - Just yesterday,
26:41 - we learned that he would continue whitewashing history
26:45 - by using your money
26:48 - to pay those who broke the law and betrayed our country from a new illegal
26:53 - billion dollar fund that he fleeced from the American taxpayer.
26:58 - Somehow he can't find the money to pay for health care,
27:02 - but he can steal from you to pay off the criminals
27:06 - who stormed the Capitol.
27:11 - It's shameful.
27:13 - Under our commander in chief, the deals we make with other countries
27:17 - are dictated by graft, not by our national security interests.
27:22 - We have a government that is not just
27:24 - embracing a culture of rampant corruption.
27:28 - They're stealing from the American people right before our very eyes.
27:33 - I know corruption when I see it as your attorney general.
27:37 - I prosecuted those who broke the law, who stole from taxpayers,
27:41 - and I applied the law without fear or favor.
27:45 - You know, our founders, our founders feared this kind of corruption.
27:50 - They knew that no law, no constitution,
27:54 - no doctrine could stop corruption
27:57 - if leaders didn't act morally
28:00 - and with the common good of society in mind.
28:04 - We sadly learned in the last 18 months
28:07 - the lack of morals in the white House
28:10 - and the bounds of our laws, our courts and our Congress.
28:15 - But Pennsylvania, there is an antidote
28:18 - to all of this right here in our Commonwealth.
28:21 - We have the power to rein in the chaos, the cruelty
28:25 - and the corruption of this administration and chart a better path
28:29 - forward for our Commonwealth and for the citizens of this country.
28:34 - We have a lot of power, and we have a lot of responsibility,
28:38 - and we should not lose sight of the privilege we have to live
28:41 - in Pennsylvania, the state that always decides it all.
28:46 - I'm grateful.
28:52 - I'm grateful
28:53 - for the hard work being done by the chairman of the Pennsylvania
28:57 - Democratic Party, my friend Eugene De Pasquale,
29:01 - and I'm grateful for his Army of Pennsylvania Democrats
29:05 - who all knock on doors, who text their neighbors,
29:08 - and who give their time for a party, for our Commonwealth and for our country.
29:13 - You know, we got a lot done together.
29:15 - We got a lot more work to do.
29:17 - We cannot afford to give Donald Trump
29:20 - a rubber stamp in the governor's office.
29:23 - And that's exactly what we're up against.
29:25 - My opponent is running on her complete
29:28 - and total allegiance to Donald Trump,
29:31 - because she's more focused on serving him than fighting for you.
29:37 - She proudly wears that MAGA hat
29:40 - while I wear the Pennsylvania jersey.
29:42 - You and your families, I believe, deserve a governor
29:46 - who shares your values, who will always fight for you.
29:50 - I'll defend the union way of life.
29:53 - I'll defend the right to choose, and I'll defend the right to marry who you love.
30:02 - I'll invest in your future and hear me on this.
30:05 - I will always honor the oath I take to uphold the Constitution
30:11 - of the United States and our Commonwealth.
30:14 - I will never,
30:16 - ever, ever back down from a fight.
30:21 - And I will never back down from a fight,
30:23 - especially against a president who's coming for you.
30:27 - You also deserve leaders in Congress
30:30 - who will focus on getting stuff done for you.
30:33 - Not going to D.C.
30:34 - to say yes to whatever they're told, no matter how much it hurts Pennsylvanians.
30:39 - Look at this Republican Congress, a congress of weak sycophants
30:45 - who have abdicated their constitutional responsibilities
30:49 - and abandoned all of us in order to serve the will of Donald Trump.
30:55 - The only way we can expect to change this is to win in November
31:00 - and bring some accountability back to our nation's capital.
31:07 - I know,
31:09 - I know, it might seem dark right now,
31:12 - but we have a chance to bring light back into this country.
31:15 - Think about what it will look like after we flip four seats here in Pennsylvania,
31:21 - and when all across this country in November.
31:25 - To have a Congress actually fights for us, we can roll back those Medicaid cuts
31:30 - and get back to investing in our communities and our families,
31:34 - not in reckless wars of choice.
31:38 - We can finally pass a new Voting Rights Act
31:42 - and a national anti gerrymandering law in order to protect our right to vote
31:49 - and our democracy.
31:53 - By winning
31:53 - these congressional seats here, we can elect a Congress that doesn't
31:57 - shy away from the responsibility of exposing wrongdoing.
32:02 - And we can hold this president and his administration
32:05 - accountable for their corruption.
32:09 - We have an historic opportunity, my fellow Pennsylvanians, to flip the U.S.
32:14 - House of Representatives.
32:16 - And I know we are ready to do our part in Pennsylvania
32:20 - and in our state capital.
32:22 - We have the opportunity to keep moving our Commonwealth forward,
32:26 - protecting our state House majority and delivering a Democratic majority
32:31 - in the State Senate for the first time since 1992.
32:39 - We can do this.
32:43 - This election is a clear choice
32:46 - between their chaos, their cruelty,
32:49 - and their corruption and our compassion.
32:52 - We believe in free breakfast for our kids.
32:55 - They believe in cutting food assistance for our hungry neighbors.
33:00 - We believe in the rule of law.
33:03 - They believe in self-dealing and enriching
33:05 - themselves at the expense of all of us.
33:09 - We have the courage and the strength of our convictions.
33:13 - These Republican officeholders who enable the president,
33:17 - well, they know better, but they refuse to speak up, to stand up.
33:22 - We believe in the right to vote
33:25 - while they work to silence the voices of black Americans
33:29 - and rig the system to get the outcome that perpetuates their rule.
33:35 - We are better than that.
33:40 - And we can come together to defeat the darkness
33:44 - we feel today and find our way into the light of tomorrow in Pennsylvania.
33:50 - It is up to us this November and all of you,
33:55 - because you're the ones with the power you have the power
33:59 - to change the direction of this country and chart a better future.
34:05 - You know, we gather here tonight in the midst of celebrating 250 years
34:10 - since we declared our independence from a king and set in motion
34:16 - one of the most extraordinary experiments in human governance,
34:20 - and created the greatest country on the face of the earth.
34:24 - And in every generation since our founding, it's
34:27 - been on our fellow Americans to organize,
34:31 - to mobilize, to repair our world and to pursue justice,
34:36 - to perfect our union together.
34:40 - No one is coming to do this work for us.
34:44 - It's on each of us right now.
34:46 - And like those who came before us, I believe we are willing to do our part.
34:51 - We are willing to stand up.
34:53 - And now is our moment to elect strong leaders
34:58 - who will fight for this democracy and deliver it for all Pennsylvanians
35:03 - to be a check on the chaos and cruelty
35:06 - and corruption, to live out Penn's vision
35:09 - and keep building a commonwealth that is warm and welcoming for all.
35:14 - To create real opportunity and to advance the cause of real freedom.
35:20 - This is our charge, Pennsylvania.
35:23 - This is our time.
35:25 - And this is our task.
35:28 - Are you ready to go to work?
35:31 - Are you
35:32 - ready to wind up and down this valley?
35:36 - Are you ready to reclaim our country?
35:40 - Pennsylvania? May God bless you.
35:42 - Let's get to work.
35:43 - Thank you for your love and your support.
35:46 - Thank you.
35:50 - Stop me now.
35:51 - I'm having such a bad time.
35:53 - I'm having a fight. Stop me now.
35:57 - If you want to have a good time, just give me a call.
36:02 - Stop me.
36:03 - I'm having a good time.
36:04 - Don't stop.
36:05 - Yes, having a good time?
36:07 - I don't want to stop.
36:08 - I don't like a trip
36:13 - on my way to Mars on a collision course.
36:16 - I am a satellite. I'm out of control.
36:19 - I have a transmission.
36:20 - You're ready to reload now get out of my life I don't
36:25 - oh, I explode, I burn it through the sky.
36:31 - And 200 degrees is what I call me Mr.
36:34 - Fahrenheit.
36:36 - I'm drowning at the speed of light.
36:39 - To make a supersonic woman of you.
36:44 - Does not make it doesn't make sense.
36:46 - Hey, hey, hey.
36:47 - There's something. There's something.
36:49 - Ooh, ooh.
36:50 - Something something.
36:52 - Good time, good time, something good.
36:54 - Something. In.
