Pittsburgh 250th Bell, History & Culture Shorts

The “Pittsburgh 250 Bell” is a commemorative, artist-designed sculpture honoring Allegheny County as part of the America250PA Bells Across PA initiative. Created by artist Scott Saloney, the bell is one of 67 uniquely designed installations representing each Pennsylvania county in the lead-up to the United States’ 250th anniversary. Inspired by the legacy of the Liberty Bell, the project highlights local history, culture, and community pride, with each bell featuring custom artwork that reflects the identity and heritage of its county.
