05:21 - OUR TEAM TOGETHER PRETTY MUCH BY

05:22 - THE END OF 1977.

05:23 - I DID NOT ANNOUNCE MY CANDIDACY

05:26 - UNTIL EARLY 1978, BUT WE WERE

05:29 - OFF AND RUNNING BY THE TIME '77

05:32 - CAME TO AN END.

05:52 - I WON THE PRIMARY WAS BECAUSE I

05:54 - WAS THE ONLY CANDIDATE FROM

05:56 - WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA.

05:57 - AND THE OTHER SIX HAD TO DIVIDE

05:58 - UP THE VOTES IN EASTERN

05:59 - PENNSYLVANIA AND, AS A MATTER OF

06:02 - ARITHMETIC.

06:03 - WE WON WITH 33% OF THE VOTE.

06:06 - IT MEANT DURING THE RUN-UP TO

06:07 - THE ELECTION WHICH WAS IN THE

06:09 - SPRING OF '78, I HAD TO TEND TO

06:13 - A LOT OF OLD FRIENDS AND

06:16 - RELATIONSHIPS.

06:16 - MAKE SURE THAT THEY WERE

06:17 - SUPPORTIVE AND ON BOARD.
