00:01 - At the time they were running short of sergeants in Vietnam

00:05 - and Fort Benning school is the Infantry school for the United

00:09 - States Army.

00:11 - They had a program they called it "Shake 'n Bake" for creating

00:16 - NCOs.

00:17 - So I trained there for three months and I was a drill

00:19 - instructor for three months

00:20 - and ran another platoon of soldiers.

00:22 - So I had a year's worth of training as an infantry soldier

00:25 - before I went to Vietnam.

00:27 - Bar none, I'm proudest of having worn the uniform that

00:33 - connects me not only to my generation of Vietnam veterans,

00:37 - but to men & women who for 200 plus years have

00:40 - worn the uniform to protect and defend their country

00:44 - frankly to defend our liberties and help promote

00:48 - liberty and freedom around the world.
