00:31 - old kids that don't want to be

00:33 - are any more than anybody else

00:34 - wants to be here.

00:35 - Let's just scare them off get

00:37 - rid of them.

00:37 - We don't need to call in

00:38 - gunships.

00:39 - And I believed him because I

00:40 - knew the North Vietnamese did.

00:42 - These weren't Viet Cong North

00:44 - Vietnamese.

00:44 - They put these kids that you

00:47 - know up front get them killed

00:49 - rather than risk their own

00:51 - troops.

00:52 - So I mean maybe you know I doubt

00:54 - that they were you know at that

00:56 - point they probably weren't

00:57 - going to go out and kill many

00:58 - Americans because it was

00:59 - somewhat winding down.

01:01 - This is late 68 late 69.

01:04 - We had already decimated the

01:05 - Viet Cong.

01:07 - So what was left was the North

01:08 - Vietnamese.

01:09 - And so we shoot them off and off

01:13 - we went.
