(2023) West Overton Village, established in 1803 by the Overholt family and preserved in 1928, is a village in southern Westmoreland County that became an industrial powerhouse during the 19th century. Henry Overholt founded a rye whiskey distillery in the village, which accrued popularity and fortune for the community. The village was also home to Henry Clay Frick, Overholt’s great-grandson and one of the most well-known industrialists in Western Pennsylvanian history.
